How it works
First thing every Monday morning we'll send you an email with concrete advice for the week ahead. Each email focuses on a single topic. and contains:
Advice that's short and to the point. What should you do, and why?Concrete actions to help you improve.
A snappy title to help make the advice memorable and relatable.

Commit
In short: if you say that you’ll do something, make sure that you do it. Equally, if you don’t think you’ll be able to do something, don’t say that you will.
This is good advice in general, but it’s particularly important in your role as the boss. Your team need to know that they can rely on you. If you’re flaky and fail to do what you’ve said, they’re not going to trust you. You won’t develop the right relationships and you won’t have as effective a team as you might otherwise.
Things to try
- If you’re asked for help, be honest about what you can achieve by when, and deliver.
- If you volunteer to help, commit only to what you actually have headroom to do.
- If you have to, work harder / longer to meet your commitments to your team. Don’t let them slip.
- If you do screw up, apologise and then work even harder to come through next time!
